With our pre-law advising program, you'll have access to advisors who have successfully navigated pre-law curricula and the law school journey themselves. Our pre-law advisors are dedicated to helping students excel in their coursework, gain meaningful legal experience, and explore the various paths towards a legal career.

Law

Crafting a Pre-Law Academic Trajectory

The journey to law school is a long one, and it starts with building a strong foundation in high school. We'll work with you to ensure that you're establishing a solid pre-law course selection. That means pursuing a mix of AP courses, outside coursework when appropriate, and broader academic success to be well-prepared as you embark on your pre-law journey.

To that end, we collaborate with student mentors and our tutoring team to provide not only relevant pre-law course advising but also tutoring support to help you excel academically. The pre-law track doesn’t operate in a vacuum; we integrate our pre-major advising with our other SK services to ensure you’re getting the comprehensive support you need.

Pre-Law Extracurriculars

Engagement in competitive pre-law extracurriculars can be a key differentiator for aspiring law students. Whether we’re helping a student secure a leadership role in mock trial, win a gavel at their next model UN conference, or excel at speech and debate, we ensure that students gain valuable experience and tangible achievements early on.

 

Beyond just participating in these activities, we work to ensure that each student is fully immersed in extracurriculars that align with their pre-law goals. Our holistic approach ensures that students are not only building the skills necessary for law school but also gaining the confidence and poise needed to stand out in the competitive pre-law landscape.

SK Summer Pre-law Programming

Students in our pre-law track often take advantage of our extensive SK summer institutes! We have bootcamps in mock trial, model UN, and speech and debate!

Legal Exposure

Gaining hands-on experience in the legal field can be incredibly valuable for aspiring pre-law students. Not only does it offer a glimpse into the day-to-day realities of a legal career, but it also helps students build a solid foundation for their future studies and career planning. By seeking out internships and shadowing opportunities, students can better understand whether the legal path is right for them and explore which areas of law they find most compelling.

 

Our pre-law advisors help SK students find these essential internships and shadowing opportunities, giving them a significant head start over their peers who may not begin seeking out such experiences until later in college. By connecting students with litigators, policy experts, and other legal professionals, we ensure pre-law mentees gain meaningful, hands-on experiences that not only strengthen their pre-law profiles but also deepen their understanding of—and passion for—the practice of law.
